Last one standing..

Next monday when I go to work, I'll be the last one of my kind left. Collin left today. and he's very happy about it. They made me do industry coding now too. hahah.. my training for industry coding is only 15 mins. Just hand me the book and "go read" then do practise, then start coding liao. Imagine, we had 1 day training at first!! And the 2nd batch had 3 days of training!!! no fair. Luckily, I get to move back to my original place with Zhiqiang and Jasmine on monday, otherwise I'll be bored out of my mind.

So after work, we went for dinner together. Went to this new thai place at parco bugis. Can't remember the name liao lah, but it's at the first floor. Ok lah. The tom yum soup is sour enough but not spicy. The best is the Lemon grass drink there. Not bad, the taste is more sweet than sour, with the clean scent of lemon grass. So we talked about the people in the office. hehe.. Dont' judge a book by its cover. There's this Mr MWAHAHA, that guy who always shake his butt when he walks, very sissy one. Laugh super loudly and laugh like hyena one. The one which boy-boy recorded his laughter for entertainment. At first, we thought he was a nobody there. Some clerk there (4120), but he's not loh. hahah.. he's quite senior there one. Office got door one. We found out that, he's actually the assistant director there. Piang.. like that can be assistant director loh. hahah.. misleading ah. Don't underestimate anyone eh? A lot more gossip lah. hehe.. but yea, dont underestimate anyone in the office, just because the person dont' dress well doesn't mean that she's not high up. Those who do, doesn't mean he/she has the power either.

After dinner, Zhiqiang wants to go to the entertainment center. haha..blur me, go bugis so many times didn't know there's an arcade at the basement loh. dumb right? hahha.. but that's because I always go to the shops. He wanted to go win this Winnie the Pooh toy for his gf, it's those UFO machines. Those that you use the machine to 'pick' up the machine, and they will drop it into the outlet. It was very popular like when I was 12? But they have since upgraded those machines, and the prizes are very attractive. Those Disney ones imported from Japan. The machine now has 2 parts to the game. There's like a side bar where there's a spinning board, and they will tilt the box according to what you get in the spinning board. So if you get +1 in the board, they will tilt one level forward, -1 and they will tilt one level back. You will need to tilt all 5 levels to win the bear in the box.

So at first Zhiqiang tried to win the Winnie the Pooh for his gf. He was really hooked on it. He had already spent more than 10 bucks trying the day before. So today, he tried abt 10 bucks more. He sort of gave up on the winnie and wanted to win the one at the sidebar instead. But he got lucky and won the Winnie the Pooh by chance instead. At first he was very happy. Because his gf will be v happy. And I thought we are going to leave already. But no, now the game changed. He want to get the one at the sidebar. And he got very hooked on it. He ran out of money already, and was borrowing from Collin and Jasmine to play. Ran out of coins, was about to leave, but he saw a similar machine, and started playing another $3. He got very fierce and started cursing a lot when he keep losing loh. And there was a glint in his eyes, like an addict. So I realised that he will continue unless I stop him. So I said, "You will have to stop when you finish this last game loh.. otherwise really no money liao." The rest agreed with me. So we walked away. He went to withdraw money to pay Jasmine and Collin back.

It was only when he was queuing up for the money, when he calmed down and realised that he had spent a lot of money on the machine. Even after he had gotten what he wanted. It was at the heat of the moment, he sort of lost a bit of self-control. And he just wanted to beat the system. Even though we sort of know that the machine is not fair. He thanked us for supporting him and pulling him away before he lost more.

I dont' know. hahah.. actually got a lot to say one. Now i'm so tired, dun want to write liao. Anyway, his gf is very happy and thrilled because he won it for her. Which is all nice and sweet of him, I was very thrilled and happy even though I was standing beside him when he caught it. But when his gf gets it, I wonder if she will know how much money and effort he spent to get it for her. The doll can be easily bought from a store for maybe less. His effort and starting point is out of goodwill, later on it became dangerous for him. He got addicted to the machine. And I wonder, if one day your future bf win such a thing for you, you will of course be happy that he cared so much for you, but is it really worth it?

Personally, I do not have a lot of use for such dolls. I've got tons of it. Wanted to throw them away a couple of years back. They were just sitting there collecting dust, and I don't find them cute at all, in fact to be frank, it sort of clash with my deco. Almost threw them away, but my sis kept them. So actually, if a bf ever give me that, I don't really care for it bah. But still.. I'll be happy cos he bothered to try. But what if he didnt' win it? Then won't it be a complete waste of that $30 bucks? Actually I would rather he give me the $30 bucks. At least can go have a good meal, or buy a nice top to last me one season? Or a pair of nice shoes. I can think of more use for that $30. What do you think?
